Forging refines the metal, not just forming. Compared to alternatives to casting or machining, we use high-temperature hot forging to make alloy steel into rocker arms, which improves dimensional integrity, fatigue resistance and greater impact strength. The rocker arm should be heat treated after forging to achieve the ideal plasticity and hardness ratio.
