Forged steel Parts

Forged steel parts are a kind of steel alloy that is compressed under extreme pressure to create a very hard and strong substance. Such materials have been widely used in forging processes since the birth of forging technology. Modern forging of steel is performed using specialized machines or hydraulic hammers.
Compared with cast steel, forged steel parts have higher strength and better toughness. When steel forgings are produced, the metal can be kept at room temperature (cold forging) or heated to high temperatures (hot forging), see the difference between hot and cold forging. The higher the temperature, the easier the metal is to form and the less likely it is to crack.

Closed die forging is a widely used forging technology for forging steel parts. During closed-die forging, the upper and lower dies are divided into two halves and brought close to each other, completely covering the forged steel workpiece. The forged billet is then heated above the recrystallization temperature and placed in the lower die. Impact or force is applied from above to forge the material into the desired shape. Although the initial setup cost of closed die forging is higher than other processes, it is still widely used because the production cost is very low compared to other processes and the strength-to-weight ratio of the forged material is 20% higher than other processes.
